Aging parents

I have spent 2 days with Daddy this week at different doctors. Monday we went to the VA Hospital in Beckley for his checkup. Daddy fell at work, Food City, 3 weeks ago and fractured his right pelvis. He gets stiff and it hurts, but there is nothing to help it except keep walking. (He was at the ER and an orthopedic specialist right after.)

Well, the VA doctor wanted several tests run, and we were at the hospital from 9am 'til 4:30! He is so funny. He had to drink 3 barium bottles and tried to make me share the burden.

His phosphorus is too high and he has a kidney infection.

Today we went to the eye doctor. His cateract is ready, so surgery is scheduled for March 30th. I think if he sees better, he won't be so afraid of falling again.

Mom goes back to Boman Gray Hospital next Wednesday for her skin grafts checkup.

It's always something! I'm just thankful to still have them around. Who will take me to the doctor when I'm in my 80's?
